Subscription terms

The contract is concluded between you and the owner of the site 1astro.net, a private individual (“we” below). The contact address is given at the top of the page.

Forecasts for a week, a month, six months, a year and 5 years are open to everyone on the site. The subscription delivers your forecast to you:

• a personal calendar feed with all forecast events a year ahead: it is added to Google Calendar, Apple or Outlook with one tap and updates itself;
• “Add to calendar” buttons on individual events;
• a daily email at 06:00 in your time zone with warnings for the day;
• an email every Monday with an overview of the week.

You sign in with a link from an email, without a password.

The subscription costs $2 (two US dollars) a month. The total is shown on the payment page before you confirm it.

Payment is by card through Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.). You enter the card number on the Stripe page; we never see or store it. Your bank may charge its own fee for paying in dollars: this does not depend on us.

The contract is concluded when the first payment goes through: by paying for the subscription, you accept these terms.

The subscription is monthly and renews automatically: every month, on the day you subscribed, Stripe charges $2 to the same card until you cancel.

If a charge fails, we will email you. Until the payment goes through, paid features may not work; if it never does, the subscription ends.

You can cancel the subscription at any time, without giving reasons and without penalties, in your customer account with the payment system Stripe.

After cancellation, access remains until the end of the paid month, and there are no further charges. Then the calendar feed shows a single event: the subscription has ended, and how to renew it.

Cancelling stops future charges. Money for a month that has already started is not refunded, except in the cases below.

We will refund the full amount if a charge was made in error or twice, and also if paid features did not work through our fault for most of the paid month. Write to us; the money will return to the same card through Stripe.

These terms do not limit the rights that consumer protection laws give you.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of its conclusion, without giving reasons.

The subscription is a digital service, and it starts right after payment. You lose the right of withdrawal only if you have agreed to this yourself: the payment page has a separate checkbox for it. By ticking it, you ask us to start right away and confirm that you know you lose the right of withdrawal once the service begins.

If you did not tick this box, the right of withdrawal lasts the full 14 days: write to us within that period, in any form. We will refund the full amount no later than 14 days after receiving your notice, using the same means of payment you used.

The forecast is built automatically by the classical rules of jyotish: the numbers come from an ephemeris calculation, and the texts come from a pre-written library of rules, each with a reference to its source.

The forecast describes tendencies, not events, and guarantees nothing. It is not a substitute for a doctor, a lawyer or a financial adviser: make decisions about health, money and legal matters together with them.

The forecast is calculated from the date, time and place of birth you gave. If they are inaccurate, so is the forecast.

We are responsible for the subscription working as described above. Interruptions happen: server maintenance, failures, delays at mail services. We try to keep them short; if paid features did not work through our fault, see “Refunds”.

We are not responsible for decisions you make on the basis of the forecast, or for the operation of other services: your email, calendar or bank.

These limitations apply to the extent the law permits. They do not limit liability for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

What data the subscription needs, why, and how long we keep it is described in the privacy policy.

We may change these terms. The date of the last change is shown at the top of the page.

We will notify you by email at least 30 days in advance of changes that affect an active subscription, including a new price. A new price applies only from the first paid month after that period. If you do not agree, cancel the subscription before the changes take effect.

Send questions, withdrawal notices and refund requests to the contact address at the top of the page. We will try to settle everything amicably.

If we cannot agree, the dispute is resolved under the law. A consumer has the right to go to court and to the consumer protection authorities of the country where they live.
